ACT gallery, from over the last 15 years, some of the customers cars and projects.
Here you can see pictures of some of the cars we’ve worked on.
TVR Tuscan Built in 2000 for Tim Lamont by Streber Motorsport using Marcos 5 litre GT racing engine with ACT induction.
TVR 450 SEAC The first 450 SEAC, 1988 Motor Show car, now owned by Steve Charlesworth and has the full compliment of ACT Induction kit and bespoke exhaust system.
TVR Griffith The Bedlington / V8 Sports and Classics Racing TVR Griffith driven by Simon Bowes Noel from V8 Sports & Classics, who built the car, approached ACT to help improve the engines performance, they use a practically standard 4.6L unit after destroying a TVR500 engine earlier in the 2004 season, ACT have supplied a carbon fibre twin plenum system the end result 240 bhp at the wheels enough to embarrass a standard Griffith 500 and indeed helped to give Simon the “legs” to offer a very strong and dominant presence throughout the season.
420 SEAC This SEAC was running a 4.6 Rover V8. By taking the standard induction (from the 4.2) and placing it on top of the 4.6 ACT discovered that the engine had so much torque that it ran out of puff. ACT identified that improving the airflow by replacing the Inlet manifold, trumpet base with large trumpets and large plenum chamber yielded another 1000 rpm and a much more driveable car. This car now has a 5 litre TVR Griffith 500 engine (from the car below). This car is referred to in the Cars & Car Conversions article.
Griffith 500 The owner of this Griffith 500 wanted an ultimate engine and as such put all the ACT kit on. With a fully mapped ignition system this car was very powerful.
V8S Sprinting bought on the desire for more power and more torque. The ACT modifications provided me with that. I wanted to imprvove my 4.0 litre engine response and turned to ACT to see what they could do. When I changed my engine to a 4.6 it was logical to keep the large plenum, enlarged trumpets and base.
420 SEAC Tim Lamonts red SEAC (now sold). This car ran the 4.2 Rover engine with the enlarged ACT components including 78mm Throttle body, enlarged trumpets and manifold and with a high lift 234 cam produced over 300 bhp. This car is referred to in the Cars & Car Conversions article.
450 SEAC A very clean 450 SEAC, ACT fitted a Carbon fibre plenum and a modified trumpet base, the result was more power throughout the rev range.
Westfield SEight A 3.9 ltre V8 Westfield SEight, This was the first Westfield to have the new plenum, the results were excellent.
Rover SD1 5.2 This Car was built for a Jeremy Clarkson Video. it features a 5.2 Rover V8 with ACT carbon Fibre induction. It made over 350 BHP with even more torque. The car was built by RPI Engineering, to find out more see RPIV8 Also: See this car in action on “Full Throttle” video here .
A very nice TVR Chimaera, owner Simon amongst other things has fitted ACT induction mods, full ACT sports manifold system and Jordan R wheels
